1. Data that we collect from you
When you visit, register or request a set of machine details by submitting your email address through our website on www.shpfoodmachinery.co.uk you may be asked to provide certain information about yourself including your name and contact details. We may also collect information about your usage of our website such as IP address, location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views. This information may be used to improve our website's usability and for marketing purposes. We will also collect data about you from e-mails or letters you send to us.
Information about you personally is only collected via the submission form on our Contact Us page. The information being: Your name, company name, your position within your company or business, email address, phone number, address and the nature of your enquiry. We also collect and store your email address when you input your email address through the website when you submit your email address in any of the machine details webpages to request a set of details via email on a specific machine. Your email is collected and stored in our email marketing list database. This email is collected and stored in our database for future correspondence and will be added to our overall mailing database so that we can keep you updated with available machinery as and when it comes up for sale on the website.
2. Data Usage
The data is collected for the sole purpose of assisting you to buy or sell the machinery you have for sale, so we may contact you to inform or request information and let you know if we have the machinery you are looking for.
From time to time, we may send out a full list of available machinery we have advertised through our website to every email in our mailing list database as part of the overall marketing of machines we have for sale.
Your personal details may be supplied to third party transport companies or engineers as required, to facilitate the deinstallation, installation, delivery or collection of goods that have been agreed by you, to be collected or delivered upon completion of a sale or purchase. Your personal details may also be supplied, only as required, to Insurance companies as the contact person onsite during deinstallation or installation of machinery as agreed by you in advance via email or other written consent.
As part of the registration process for our monthly newsletter or mailing list of machinery, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about machinery you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are correct and up to date and to check you are satisfied with our service. We do not sell, rent or trade in any way your email address with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, www.mailchimp.com, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our mailing lists and mail campaigns. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer James Jordan.
3. Disclosure of your data
The information you provide to us will be held on our computers in the UK and may be accessed by or given to third parties who act for us for the purposes set out in this policy or for other purposes approved by you.
